As integral community partners, churches and faith-based organizations have a vital role in supporting the creation of an enabling environment for child development and addressing the dynamics of family violence. CDF seeks to support faith-based organizations to provide education and sensitization on child abuse, domestic violence, child marriage/early union, and human trafficking to their congregations and communities.
In addition, CDF will support churches and other faith-based organizations to develop and implement safeguarding policies to prevent child abuse and sexual assaults in their institutions as well as training for leaders. Tools will also be provided to marriage officers to access marriage laws, information on counseling youth to prevent child marriage, and referral services for counseling and rehabilitation for survivors of child sexual abuse, domestic violence, and human trafficking.
