Counseling
Trauma-focused therapy for victims of child abuse, child sexual exploitation, human trafficking, and domestic violence. We offer short-term and long-term therapy that focuses on aiding victims to improve their daily function and reach their fullest potential.
CDF counselors’ approach is non-judgmental, supportive and works with victims to set goals and establish strategies to meet those goals.
The Migrant Information Hub
Migrant services provide information on migration procedures, assist migrants complete immigration forms, obtain documents from their country of origin, liaise with their embassy, educate them about their rights and referrals to other services.
Advocacy and Capacity Building
Training workshops, community outreaches, and educational activities for government and non-government stakeholders working with women and children to enhance capacities for social protection and interventions. CDF’s workshops provide participants with tools and skills to strengthen the services they already provide to improve the wellbeing of their communities and to expand the continuum of care for survivors.
Human Trafficking Interventions
Belize, like other Central American and Caribbean countries, faces a challenge addressing human trafficking due to its geographic location along migratory routes as well as challenging socio-economic conditions. Belize has been identified as a source, transit, and destination country for human trafficking.
Research
Research and data collection on issues connected to child abuse, human trafficking, domestic violence interventions for its internal planning, and also to support national response mechanisms.
Youth Interventions
In school mentorship clubs under our RISE Girls Program as well as psycho-educational activities on child abuse, commercial sexual exploitation, child marriage, and early union.
